The Economy Combination Kit is ideal for smaller industries with a lower number of mobile workers. The CR308 is a Calibrated Class 2 Sound Level Meter and can be used for spot checks. The doseBadge Pro Noise Dosimeters are used for direct measurement of a worker's noise exposure.
With this kit we recommend using the doseBadges for your full occupational noise survey as they provide all the measurements that are needed. The hand-held meter is a calibrated Class 2 sound level meter, but is not integrating (required by some regulations) and so does not provide measurements such as LAeq or Lavg. This meter is perfect for spot checks in addition to a survey carried out with the dosimeters.
For more comprehensive checks using a hand-held meter, please have a look at the Integrating Combination Kit.
The Economy Combination Kit comes with the following:
This combination kit is for assessing worker noise exposure to help you develop a plan for noise reduction and hearing protection. While the doseBadge Noise Dosimeters are primarily designed for assessing each worker's daily noise exposure, the sound level meter can be used for other applications too, such as quick checks on factory sound levels, office noise and checking the general acoustic environment.

doseBadge Noise Dosimeter - Attached to the worker, it measures the noise exposure throughout the work shift. This part of the Combination Kit is very application specific, being designed to measure high noise levels in a working environment.
CR308 Sound Level Meter - This general purpose Type 2 sound level meter is ideal for making quick checks around the noisy environment before carrying out a full assessment using the doseBadge. It is also suitable for making quick noise checks in other working environments, such as offices, and can be used for alarm testing too.
The doseBadge Pro is a small noise dosimeter that mounts on the worker's shoulder in order to measure noise exposure throughout the working shift. It is fully self-contained, with rechargeable battery and microphone built in.
The noise dosimeter is fixed to the worker's clothing or overalls using the clips provided. Once running it continuously measures the sound levels, recording the levels every second and calculating the total noise exposure in line with the occupational noise regulations.
This is the Pro version of the doseBadge, so it includes extra functionality such as octave band filters, multiple channels and fast charge time. It is suitable for use in all international occupational noise regulations in case you need to use it in different regions.
The meter included in this kit is the CR308 Type 2 Sound Level Meter. This is a hand-held meter that can be used for making quick noise measurements, presenting the results on the back-lit display in dB(A) or dB(C). It measures the Slow or Fast time weighted sound level, indicating the maximum and minimum (Lmax and Lmin). For high impact and loud banging noise it also measures the Peak.
The most common way to use this sound level meter, when supplied in a Combination Kit, is to make quick measurements to assess the general noise levels in the workplace. For this type of use it is easier than trying to use the doseBadge, which is really suited to longer term noise exposure measurement.
The CMB308/x Combination Kit comes with software to configure the doseBadge Pro, download measurements from it and generate occupational noise reports. This software is called NoiseTools and provides the following features:
This Windows software is licence free and so can be installed on as many computers as needed.
The CR308 hand held sound level meter is not a data logger, so it does not connect to a computer or have any software. If you need a data logging meter in the kit then please have a look at the CMB162B Integrating Combination Kit.
An application for mobile phones or tablets can be used to control the doseBadge Pro and view ongoing noise measurements. This app is also free of charge.
